Family psychotherapy

Any family, even the most friendly and loving, sooner or later faces problems, crises in relationships, misunderstanding, and fatigue. Crisis is development. these are changes without which life stagnates. It is an integral part of joint life. Many couples are afraid of crises in relationships and try to avoid them with all their might. Meanwhile, crisis is not a bad event. The birth of a child, a wedding, moving, changing jobs are all crises. This is the need to adapt to new living conditions and a new person next to you who appeared in these conditions. A family psychologist helps to create a space in which the partner/wife can not only openly talk to each other about the pain, but also learn to hear each other, talk in such a way as to be heard, and be able to discuss and experience their difficult and complex feelings. An important result of such therapy is the awareness of each family member’s personal responsibility for building effective and harmonious relationships.

How long does it take to solve the problem?

The duration of psychotherapy in each specific case is different, it depends on the specific request, sometimes several meetings are enough for you to hear each other and find a common cause of misunderstanding. Family psychotherapy can be both short-term and long-term. Short-term therapy involves 2 to 5 consultation meetings. Long-term family psychotherapy involves 10-15 meetings with a psychologist, involves “deep immersion” in the problems of relationships in the family, identification of their real causes and thorough work. Frequency and required number of meetings are discussed individually. Usually, it is recommended to attend consultations with a psychotherapist once a week, duration 1 hour 20 minutes.
